I need to get my act together and stop the blogging neglect! Much has happened over the past month. I will start by saying that my trip overseas was truly amazing. Some of the highlights included an unexpected (yet affordable!) weekend in Ireland, picnicking under the rays of Olafur Eliasson's Weather Project (at the Tate Modern), and of course getting myself into (and out of) several drunken debacles. Since I've been back, much of my time has been spent lamenting over the fact that I'm not in London anymore. (to the Brits: don't think this gets you guys off the hook. Next time you're coming to Greenfield!)
Otherwise, I've been distracted by my job, my own work, and of course spring!
Sadly to say, my faith in the inhabitants of Greenfield is plummeting. Judy and I didn't get any mail art back. Not even a confusing, yet hopeful blank response. So much for that idea. (There will be no third attempt)
I haven't talked to Judy for a few days. Our schedules have been conflicting a lot recently, so we haven't been able to get much done. I'm going to try calling her during the week to talk about getting our next project started.

Work was hell today. It probably won't be much better tomorrow. Luckily I'll be going out afterwards, which will motivate me to get through the day. I'm going to a dinner party and will be feasting with some of my favorite locals. Judy is trying to talk me into taking a trip to New York this weekend. I haven't decided whether or not I should go. I probably will.

update and randomness:
I saw Judy yesterday. We are retrying the mail art project. I'll be sending them out today. The only thing we changed was the amount of time we are allowing before they should be sent back...Well, that and our expectations for receiving any type of return.
Speaking of mail, a mysterious letter came my way yesterday. While it was addressed to me, I'm guessing it was a mistake. Apparently I, Lauren Thiel, am the "customer service department" of a tree distribution company. According to the letter, two of the trees from this person's order died a few days after they were shipped. They therefore wanted to exchange the dead ones for live ones. The letter read "I am enclosing the trees along with my receipt and a copy of my order", but alas, I searched the envelope thoroughly, and the dead trees were nowhere to be found. Oh well.

HAPPY TEARS!! Originally postponed due to disappointing finances, hope has been revived. After months of cutting corners and sacrificing any type of night life to scavenge couch cushions for lost pennies, it is finally happening. My plane tickets came in the mail today, and in two weeks I fly to London for a long overdue visit with some old friends.

Art News: My collaboration with Judy is starting to pick up. We met for lunch yesterday to discuss our next project. Friday we are going shopping for supplies. Meanwhile, I'm going to scout out locations in town.
I couldn't fall asleep last night, so I worked on some sketches. It turned into an all-nighter. I haven't done that for awhile. I need sleep. I guess coffee will do.
